How to Make It Through Cold & Flu Season with Kids {TV Segment, Review, & Giveaway}

I recently had the opportunity to try out some awesome cold and flu products for a local news segment.  It was really fun reviewing the products and telling others about them live on air.  I was completely nervous at first but once I was able to relax, I started doing much better.  Good news is, they've asked me to do more!  Here is my written review, the news clip, and a bonus two-winner giveaway....
As a mother of four, cold and flu season can be the worst in our household. But luckily there are some great products on the market right now that can help you get through the season.

What’s the first thing you do when your child doesn’t feel well? Take their temperature. Kinsa has come out with this really cool thermometer for today’s tech savvy moms called the Kinsa Smart Stick Thermometer. The thermometer doesn’t require any batteries and just plugs right in to the headphone jack of your phone either by itself or with the included extension cord. And then with using the app you get a quick accurate temperature reading that usually takes about 10 seconds. While your kids wait the app has a fun little game they can interact with which makes the whole process a lot easier and more enjoyable. My favorite feature on the app is that you can set up and track each of your individual family members’ symptoms, medications, and readings and share these with your doctor. The Kinsa Smart Stick Thermometer can do oral, under arm, or rectal readings. It retails for $29.99 plus free shipping and can be purchased at kinsahealth.com.
So once you determine your child is sick, there are many things you can do at home to help them. To relieve cough, cold, and flu symptoms try safe and natural remedies such as the Kids Relief Cough & Cold Syrup and the Kids Relief Flu Oral Liquid. Homeopathic cold remedies are definitely the way to go as they are completely safe and have no side effect risk or overdose risk. They are made from all natural ingredients that help relieve the symptoms associated with colds and flus such as chest congestion, coughing, aches, pains, and fevers. My husband is actually a pharmacist and says that these products are great for parents looking to treat kids as young as 6 months old all the way up to 12 years of age! These two products retail for $6.99 and are available at amazon.com.
Next up we have the Xlear (pronounced "clear") nasal spray for kids. The Xlear nasal spray can help soothe, moisturize, and clean sinus and nasal passages with the help of the all natural ingredient Xylitol. Xylitol’s amazing moisturizing properties make it better than saline and go beyond the cleaning by protecting and smoothing the delicate tissues in your child’s nose. Just go to Xlear.com and purchase this product for only $6.99.
Now for babies who are stuffy, you can try the Baby Comy Nose nasal aspirator. It uses you own suction, which is safer and stronger than a bulb or battery operated aspirator to suction out the mucus from your baby’s nose. Don’t worry though, it is completely hygienic, there is no contact with mucus or germs, and as many moms are finding these aspirators are really effective and work great which is why they are becoming so popular. The Baby Comy Nose retails for only $12.99 and is available at Toys R Us, Walgreens, and Target.
Lastly, we have the Mommy’s Bliss Kids Upset Tummy & Nausea Relief. Mommy’s Bliss has a lot of great safe natural products. I actually use their adult nausea relief during my pregnancies and it worked great. So I was thrilled to find out they made a kids version of a safe liquid herbal supplement to help relieve indigestion, bloating, nausea, and other stomach issues that kids may have with the flu. The formula is fast-acting and will help relieve those little tummies in no time! The Mommy’s Bliss Kids Upset Tummy & Nausea Relief retails for only $8.99 and can be purchased from Amazon, CVS, Walgreens, and Target.
So there you go, Take It From Me---a mom of four kids, that using these great products can help your family get through the ugly cold and flu season without worry!

As part of this fun project, I am giving away A BABY COMFY NOSE nasal aspirator to TWO of our lucky readers!!
