Growing up my Dad always had us working in our garden. I can't tell you how many times he would yell inside asking us to come pick weeds. I was always a little mad at first because I was obviously doing something way more important, like playing with toys, but once I got outside I never once resented it. What went from a daunting task turned into an enjoyable time with my family.
I learned a lot from my dad during these nights and enjoyed the time together as a family working in our yard. He taught me at a young age to work hard and to be self reliant. And on top of that, he taught us how to stay healthy because we were always eating organic food straight from our garden.
Now that I am grown and have my own family I try very hard to stay healthy and show my kids how they can stay healthy and happy too through my example.
One way we try and stay healthy is eating organic food. We try and buy mostly organic food when possible, and feed our 15 month old daughter organic fruits, vegetables and grains as well.
I was super excited when I heard that Beech-Nut had come out with a new organic line of baby food and couldn't wait for my daughter to try it. It is homemade-inspired and there is nothing but real, whole fruits and vegetables with the occasional ancient grains and beans in each jar.
The flavors in the organic line include organic apple, raspberry & avocado, organic banana, cinnamon & granola and organic butternut squash, black bean & cumin.
There are many days (I can see my husband rolling his eyes) that I am running late and need to grab something for my daughter, so these have been perfect. Knowing that she is eating a homemade-inspired food without any artificial ingredients or preservatives makes me happy. Also, the Beech-Nut organic line also uses a unique gentle cooking process that keeps the wholesome vital nutrients allowing the fruits and vegetables to shine through.
When searching for the Beech-Nut organic line, look for the transparent honeypot glass jars, and the USDA-certified organic seal, an indication of GMO-free food.
