Last week was a major flop for me.
Nothing went right, especially when it came to baking. I envisioned in my head that I was going to be this superb baker, and whip up some yummy pancakes from scratch for my kids, which ended up being "pan-meal!" Oatmeal that tasted like pancakes. You may be laughing, but I am dead serious. I used flax as an egg substitute and oat flour and almond meal for my four. It did not turnout as you can see, so I poured the entire mixture into a pot and cooked it and made my kids eat it anyway!
I am the best mom!
I then attempted to make a few other things, and they too just did not turn out, so I was head over heels when I received a lovely box from Cherryvale Farms at my door. They sent me 6 of their “Everything But The…” baking mixes to try out and my kids loved them! They even told me they preferred these over my "pan-meal!" Hmmm…
Cherryvale Farms is all about real food and using organic ingredients when possible. They have created easy to prepare baking mixes that are full of delicious flavors because of the use of real fruits, vegetables, and nuts. They want home cooks to be able to whip up something delicious for their families while feeding them real wholesome foods filled with fresh ingredients.
Their baking mixes only have a few ingredients in them too which is what I look for when I am doing my grocery shopping. There is nothing worse than flipping over your baking mixes to see hundreds of ingredients with which half you cannot even pronounce. YUCK!
The cool Fall air really made me want some pumpkin bread, so I made their Pumpkin Spice Bread Mix and whipped it up super fast. I just added a can of organic pumpkin that I picked up at Whole Foods, Organic Coconut oil and water, that’s it!
The pumpkin bread turned out terrific and was the perfect consistency! Plus, my house was filled with a delicious smelling aroma, perfect for Fall!
