Growing up my mom was at home a lot, but there were days that she had to go to work. She was a teacher and some years she would work more days during the week. I remember the feeling when I knew she had to go to school to teach and I would miss her like crazy. She would have to leave for school earlier then I did in the mornings and I remember how much I missed her during that time.
April 24th of this month is Take Your Child To Work Day and Miss You Like Crazy is the perfect book for those whose moms work outside the home.
Our thoughts! My kids and I snuggled up together on the couch and read this together! We thought this was such a cute book. The book starts off with Walnut feeling a little sad and asking his mom if he can stay home. She tells him that she has to go to work so they can afford to live where they do and so they can have food on the table. They then fantasize what it would be like if Walnut went to work with his mom. Having such fun, they soon realize that that can't always happen and come up with an idea on how they can always be "together" when they are at work and school. My oldest daughter is going to be starting kindergarten in the Fall, so we were able to talk about ways we can be together, even when I am not physically there with her. This book is great for all types of scenarios, not just for kids whose moms may work outside of the home. Overall, we thought this book was adorable and would highly recommend it!
