2013 Holiday Gift Guide: Edenbrooke & Blackmoore Review & GIVEAWAY!! (closed)

This pregnancy has been extremely difficult for me.  I have been very sick and even though I am almost done, I still am getting IV's twice a week to help me stay functional.  My infusion sessions take about 3-4 hours per session and during that time I have been enjoying reading books.  I have lost count of how many books I have read during this pregnancy, but have found myself thoroughly enjoying getting back to reading books which I have always loved but sometimes cannot find enough time to do.  One of my friends had just gotten done reading a book and highly suggested I read it.  When I finally got around to starting it during one of my IV sessions, I became so wrapped up in the book that I ended up finishing it that same day a few hours after getting home and putting the kids down for their naps.  I found myself completely enraptured by the book and was actually sad when I had no more to read.
The book is called Edenbrooke and is written by Julianne Donaldson.  The book is a romantic tale about a young woman named Marianne who accepts an invitation to join her twin sister, Cecily, at a beautiful country estate.  Marianne is eager to escape her dreary bored life in Bath as well as an unwanted suitor.  However instead of relaxing on the English countryside while her sister snags the handsome heir of Edenbrooke, Marianne finds herself in an unexpected adventure. From a terrifying run-in with a highwayman to a seemingly harmless flirtation, Marianne's journey turns into so much more than she ever imagined.  But one thing is for sure. Edenbrooke is filled with enough romance and intrigue to keep your heart and mind racing!
I honestly cannot tell you how much I fell in love with this book!  In my mind there is nothing sweeter than getting to read about pure and honest love that makes you feel so good inside.  My heart and mind were so entangled in the words of this book.  I found myself laughing, smiling, blushing, and even crying during the book.  It was so good, so intriguing, and so full of emotions.  I definitely think it should be made into a movie!
Edenbrooke will now and forever be one of my favorite books as I have already read it several times and will never get sick of it!

Along with Edenbrooke, author Julianne Donaldson has also recently released another great romantic book called Blackmoore.  And seeing how I loved her previous book, there was no way I was going to let another great read pass me by!  Blackmoore is about a young girl named Kate Worthington who plans to never get married. Instead she dreams of traveling to India to find peace for her restless spirit and to escape the family she abhors. But Kate's meddlesome mother has other plans and makes a bargain with her.  Only after she has secured and rejected three marriage proposals will she get to go to India.  Enlisting the help of her childhood friend, Henry Delafield, Kate journeys to the stately manor of Blackmoore determined to fulfill her end of the bargain sooner rather than later. But when it comes to matters of love, bargains are meaningless and plans are changeable. There on the wild lands of Blackmoore, Kate must face the truth that has kept her heart captive. Will the proposal she is determined to reject actually be the one thing that will set her heart free?
I was so happy to find yet another outstanding proper romance from Julianne Donaldson.  Blackmoore was just as intriguing and wonderful as Edenbrooke, yet had a completely different story and take on love.  I think that just like my favorite romance author of all time Jane Austen, Julianne Donaldson just has a beautiful way of portraying love through words and stories.
If you are looking for some good books to read over the holiday break, or still need a gift for a friend or even yourself--go buy these books!  You will not regret it!  Everyone that I have suggested it to has come back thanking me as they too have fallen in love with these books just as I have!
Julianne Donaldson's Edenbrooke can be purchased at Amazon.com, Deseret Book, Indiebound, and Barnes & Noble.  Blackmoore can be purchased at Amazon.com, Deseret Book, and Barnes & Noble

Julianne Donaldson has offered to give one of our lucky readers AN AUDIO VERSION OF EDENBROOKE AND AN AUDIO VERSION OF BLACKMOORE (one each)!!!
A big THANK YOU to Julianne Donaldson for providing this giveaway.  I was not compensated for this review.  These are my honest opinions. Your experience may vary.

  1. I love these books and don't own them yet. I would love to have them around to reread when I need a pick me up!

  2. I would love to win because I love to read and this looks like a perfect fit.

  3. These books sound like something I would like. I love period pieces!

  4. I have a hour drive one way to work, an audio book would be great

  5. Oh….one of my favorite giveaways yet! I love her books, and got Edenbrooke on my Kindle app but haven't read Blackmoore yet. It would be fun to listen to it instead of reading for a change. So much fun, and I could loan to them to family members after I listen to them too.

  6. These sound like my cup of tea, as I love historical fiction. And one of my new year's resolutions is to exercise more consistently, so having an audiobook to listen to would be a great motivation.

  7. I would love to win this prize because it looks very interesting!
