Gear Up For Cold Season with Children's Mucinex!

Cold season is upon us which means it's time to get prepared.  Every year without fail, our family passes around some kind of cold bug.  Let's face it, it's hard to get away from the common cold!  It is so easily passed from person to person and with kids it can almost be impossible not to get the cold bug at some point or another during the dreaded cold season.
Luckily I feel like I had to best example growing up with my mom as a nurse, showing me just what it meant to love, comfort, and get a family through the cold season.  My mom took all of the pain of suffering out of a cold season and was the absolute best at taking care of her sick kids.  I learned a lot from her and have tried to instill the same practices and skills with my own family.
Here are some tips that every parent can use during the cold season:
1. Be prepared: It's always important to be prepared before the cold season hits!  That means stocking up on tissues, hand sanitizer, medicine, etc.  Make sure you have all of those comforting things that help your family make it through illness.  I always make sure to have my heating pads, blankets, humidifiers, thermometers, and other items of relief at the ready so I can take the stress out of the chaos that may come.
2.. Teach your family about the importance of hand-washing and make sure they are extra careful to wash their hands during illness:  Germs spread so quickly!  Teaching my kids about germs and how washing their hands can prevent sickness has been such a positive thing.  It's great to see them so proactive washing their hands and using antibacterial hand sanitizer to help prevent the spread of germs!
3.. Along with washing hands to prevent the spread of germs, as a mom I always make sure to clean and disinfect our home during cold season:  Cleaning is a great way to help combat cold germs!  Doorknobs, toys, and counter tops are a nesting ground for germs.  I have found that a good deep cleaning and disinfecting run on the house can make a huge difference when it comes to getting my family healthy and back on their feet after a nasty bout with illness!
4.  Get lots of rest and fluids during illness: You know the saying "sleep/or rest is the best medicine"?  Well that's because resting your body and drinking fluids keeps your body hydrated and boosts your immune system.  A strong immune system is key when fighting illness.  So take the old saying to heart and make sure your family is rested and drinking lots of fluids when they get sick!  Make sure you are eating healthy, make some chicken soup, and give that immune system of yours a boost!
5.  Be the best nurse you can be:  Even though I am not a true nurse like my mom, I still make sure I know all I can about fighting illness in my home.  I use the fast acting Children's Mucinex Multi-Symptom Cold with my kids during the cold season, but am always keeping up to date on all of the drug facts, warnings, dosages, and more!  With all of the changes and recalls, I know that it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to the health of my family!  For the complete drug facts, uses, warnings, dosing chart, and active ingredients of Children's Mucinex Multi-Symptom, just CLICK HERE
