15 Songs Every Kid Should Know CD Review & GIVEAWAY (closed)

Some songs are timeless classics!  Passed down generation to generation, these songs become a sort of musical staple in our culture.  Teaching a child those types of classic songs is always so much fun and now with the help of Jeffrey Friedberg, award-winning children's musician and certified music therapist, you can do so in a fun and funky way!  His new album 15 Songs Every Kid Should Know (and will Love!), is the first in a projected series of "15 Songs" recordings from Friedberg's Bossy Frog Productions.  The first album is set for release on August 6, but I was lucky enough to get to check it out before the big debut.
First of all, I couldn't agree more with the title of the album because the fifteen classic children's songs on 15 Songs Every Kid Should Know (and will Love!) are indeed songs which every child should learn and are sure to love--mine do!!  The album contains popular songs such as Itsy Bitsy Spider, Old McDonald, Wheels on the Bus, If You're Happy & You Know It, and more!  The album also has songs which you love and may not have familiarized your kids with yet like 5 Green & Speckled Frogs, Six Little Ducks, She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain, I've Been Working on the Railraod, and Foggie Went a Courtin'.  So not only is the album jam packed with great songs, but Jeffrey Friedberg delivers them in such a fun and exciting way!
Jeffrey Friedberg produced the album with lots of TLC and a passion for keeping these songs alive and relevant. Explains Friedberg, "I wanted to explore the rich treasury of classic children's songs -- those gems that make up our cultural DNA -- but in a way that reflects our multicultural society, with Cuban rhythms, African drumming, Irish fiddling, and Cajun accordion playing, along with jazz, rockabilly, bluegrass, rock, folk, funk and soul styles. The experience of making this album exceeded every expectation I had going into the project. The 40+ musicians involved collaborated with tremendous care, sensitivity, dedication and artistry, and this really can be heard on every single song."  All of the artists on this album perform to the highest standards that reflect a deep respect for history and culture in combination with a desire to present the music in adventuresome new interpretations.
This album has become such a treasure in our home!  It encompasses the classic nature of children's music and it is so wonderful to hear the timeless songs on the album played throughout our home!

  1. I would love to win this because I agree that these are songs all kids should know, yet my kids aren't fans of my singing voice and would prefer the CD version. :)
