The Great Cheese Chase Review & GIVEAWAY (closed)

Our family LOVES to play games, but with younger kids sometimes playing games can be difficult.  Difficult because 1. There are lots of games which they cannot seem to grasp how to play well and 2. Because winning and loosing can sometimes take the fun out of playing games.  Peaceable Kingdom is one of my top favorite places to buy games for kids because they create "fresh, fun products that educate, stimulate and inspire" children of all ages.
I also really like that they use sustainable materials in their products whenever they can (such as recycled papers, soy-based inks, and corn-based plastics), they work with independent game developers and illustrators who are more personable, and they connect everyone (kids to parents and kids to other kids).  Overall, they are a terrific company with some amazing products and games!!
I was so happy when I got the opportunity to try out one of their newest award winning games--The Great Cheese Chase.  The Great Cheese Chase is part of Peaceable Kingdom's selection of Cooperative Games--games in which all all players play together against a common obstacle, not against each other.  I LOVE cooperative games because it teaches kids to work together, share in decision-making, feel compassion for each other, and there is no competition therefore no one is left out.
The Great Chase is a fantastic and fun cooperative game which younger kids, like mine, are able to easily play and enjoy!  We loved opening it up and playing together for our first time and it's been the game my kids have asked to play several times since.  They really enjoy playing because each and every one of my kids can play it together even with their age differences.  Something small that I actually found really nice was that the game instructions are printed on the inside of the box cover--such a simple thing, but something I really loved!  No lost directions and when my husband got the game out to play it with the kids, he figured out just what to do with a short read of the directions printed on the box.
The object of The Great Cheese Chase is to get three mice up to the attic to their cheese.  "Start with one player spinning the spinner. If you land on a 1 or 2, move any mouse forward one or two spaces. If the spinner lands on Tiger the Cat, move Tiger one space. If Tiger lands on a mouse, that mouse goes back to the start! Land on the catnip and tuck it aside to use later to move Tiger back one space. Get all three mice to the attic before Tiger gets there and you all win!"  Most of the time it has been pretty easy getting our mice to the attic, but my kids happen to love the "thrill of the chase" when Tiger the cat comes to try and stop us.  I highly recommend this game to others with young kids and for everyone to check out the great selection of cooperative games and other fun games that Peaceable Kingdom offers!!
