Although Earth Day has passed, my family likes to think that everyday is Earth Day! There are so many things that we can do as individuals and as a family to help the environment.
We were given the opportunity to participate in the P&G Conserve-It-All Program, and have had so much fun coming up with ideas and activities on how we can reduce, reuse and/or recycle more in our home.
I think we do a pretty good job, but there is so much more we can do! Some things that we've done lately are shopping more at thrift stores, garage sales and sidewalk snatching (you'd be amazed at the things you can get that people put out by the curve!)
This lovely hamper was picked up from a garage sale! I'm going to spray paint it white and place it in our hallway for our family laundry!
We really needed a dresser, so this was a project that we did not too long ago. We salvaged this old dresser for our bedroom!
Our dresser after we refurbished it!
My girls really enjoy doing crafts and almost daily, my oldest will take something that is going in the trash/recycling and will bring it to me asking if she can use it for making crafts!
For one project, I wanted my kids to get creative, so I took a bunch of things that were in our recycling and put them on the table. I asked the girls what they wanted to make and they said they wanted to make silly, spooky masks. We just a blast and my husband and I were laughing so hard at the things they came up with!
Participating in this program has really made us more aware of how we can recycle more in our day to day lives!
What activities did you do for Earth Day and what are some fun things we can do daily to help the environment?
