After a LONG move, two siblings weddings, Christmas and new years with both families and a successful job hunt I am finally organized enough to get back to blogging and thought I would give you all a little peek into my weekend.
Although we didn't get quite the amount of money we needed, during the last week of the project fundraiser, a very generous church group of women donated almost all the needed school supplies. With their very generous donation and the money we raised we have just enough to get these shipped to Vanuatu.
Although it is a little delayed I have finally started putting together the backpacks to send to Vanuatu and this weekend I had a lot of little helpers to pack them! My mom is a scout leader for the 10 and 11 year olds and for their activity this week they all came over to her house and packed backpacks with us.
It was chaotic but very touching to see how much these little boys wanted to help. I laughed as they tried to stay organized and form assembly lines. All of them wanted to help so much but you could see how difficult it was for them to control their seemingly boundless energy long enough to get all 75 backpacks packed.
It was really fun to see this project really come to life as we assembled the backpacks and thought of were they would end up. Now all I have to do is assemble the hygienic kits and get them in the mail. So a big thank you to all those who helped make this goal a reality!!!
