Dr. Bronner's Donates $250,000 More to Yes on 37 Campaign to Support GMO Labeling

I am a huge fan of Dr. Bronner's soap so when I heard about their donation I had to post it! And although I do not live in California, I think this is a big deal for everyone and wanted to share it with you because we simply have the right to know!

"It's dinner time. Do you know what you're eating? Do you know what your children are eating? The California Right to Know campaign wants to make sure you do. Proposition 37 requires that food that has been genetically engineered be labeled because we have the right to know what is in our food."

"Today we are announcing that Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps has donated another $250,000 to Prop. 37, The California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act.

Proposition 37 is a common-sense November ballot measure that will help consumers make informed choices about the food they eat. Written with broad input from food groups, science, and health experts, Prop. 37 will require clear labels, letting consumers know if the foods they are eating are genetically engineered.

However, Prop 37 has been losing support in voter polls due to the impact of relentless and deceptive TV attack ads funded by pesticide and junk food manufacturers. They mislead voters into thinking that a simple labeling law is somehow a plot by trial lawyers to get rich while food prices sky rocket. GMO labeling laws already exist in 61 countries. Despite the false claims of Prop 37 opposition, food costs have not risen when labeling is required. These same hollow arguments against consumers' right to know have been made against every previous labeling regulation such as calorie and allergen disclosure. The 'No on Prop 37' campaign is spending over $1 million a day on TV ads to confuse voters. However, the Yes on 37 campaign has demonstrated through internal polling that their simple ad, reminding voters of their fundamental relationship and right to know what's in their food, cuts right through the flak."

Vote Yes on Proposition 37!

I was not compensated for this post.
