Growing up, we always had movie nights filled with yummy popcorn and great films! I definitely treasured this time with my family and now that I have kids of my own, I too can start this fun tradition in my own home!
Summer is always filled with MANY movie nights. Although my kids aren't quite old enough for school, my husband will be starting school next week. Knowing that his scheduled is going to be keeping him quite busy, we wanted to have one last movie night (cuddle night) together with our kids!
We were lucky enough to receive three movies from Phase 4 Films, I Heart Shakey, Rockstars and My Friend Bernard.
Our favorite was I Heart Shakey because it is about a Dad and his daughter who move from a small town to Chicago. It is definitely a heart warming movie about the importance of family, and when we received this movie in the mail, we actually just moved to Chicago, so my kids were able to relate to it extremely well. The characters are extremely likeable and funny, even my mom (Grandma) was laughing!
Rockstars wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It is definitely for an older audience, my kids lost interest about fifteen minutes into it. This animated movie is about a worm that fights his way to the top to become a rock star, disco bangoer! Being the lower class, composting specie, the "beetle" singers walk all over them. The movie is filled with fun beats, and was entertaining for me. There were definitely some funny one-liners.
Lastly, we got to review My Friend Bernard. My husband has been going around the house playing hide and seek with my kids and my daughter keeps saying he is a monster, so this movie was perfect for her, since it's all about Bernard, a polar bear sidesick who helps Sam fight his fear of scary monsters! It's a very cute movie, and my girls really enjoyed it.
