I'm officially hooked on the new Motion City Soundtrack album, Go!
To be honest, I had actually never heard of Motion City Soundtrack before this, but quickly fell in love with their chill sound, awesome lyrics, and rockin voices that I found on the Go album. Seriously, the CD is chalk full of great songs! It is one of those albums that will stream through my playlists over and over again! One thing that particular draws me to them is their unique, creative, and eclectic songs. The lyrics are powerful, full of meaning, and more!
Here is part of the song Timelines:
"Sifting through the broken glass
The echoes of my ancient past
Keep flooding into every pore
Like scattered seeds of sycamore
Suddenly I started wondering how I got here....
It's not a matter of time, it's just a matter of timing
Do you ever wonder how you got to here?"
(From a press release)
On Go, Motion City Soundtrack – Justin Pierre, Josh Cain, Matt Taylor, Jesse Johnson and Tony Thaxton – really felt they could stretch out during the recording process due to the fact that they had no label to report to, a creative freedom they hadn’t experienced since recording their debut album I Am The Movie in 2002. In addition, the band entered the studio after their “4 Albums, 2 Nights, 7 Cities” tour, where they played their entire catalogue. This career spanning run gave them time to reflect and that combined with their renewed sense of freedom resulted in the most mature Motion City Soundtrack album to date.
I would definitely say that Go is emotionally charged and full of energy! "Go is about choices, embracing what you have, love, death and more." It is definitely worth checking out!
