Out Of The Box Publishing (Review & Giveaway)

"Games should be fun. They provide delightful diversions to our lives. Most importantly, games bring us together – for real entertainment with real people. Out of the Box Publishing creates innovative party, card and board games that provide fresh, fun and engaging ways to enjoy time with friends and family."
Playing games this holiday with my family and relatives was a blast! After a long day of outings it was nice to come home and relax with yummy food and games.
We were given two games from Out of the Box Publishing to review and really enjoyed them both.
The first game we reviewed was Backseat Drawing.
The Hysterical Game of Sketchy Directions! "Two teams race to identify drawings done by their own team members. But the artists don’t know what they are drawing—they can only follow the instructions given by another team member. Laughter erupts as players attempt to follow direction and to guess what is being drawn. With Backseat Drawing, there’s no time to stop and ask directions— the fun never stops!"
Unlike Pictionary, a game where you know what you are drawing, this game turns things around so the drawer, also known as the artist, has no idea what they are drawing. Each team chooses an artist, the person drawing, and a director, the one who tells the artist what to draw. The director is the only one on the team who knows what the word is. The director is only allowed to use Shape Terms: line, dot, square, oval, curve,‘T’ shape, cube, pyramid, etc., Location and Direction Terms: left, right, up, down, on top of, inside, near, angled, etc., Size and Number Terms: two, inches, half, big, small, larger, more, fewer, longer, etc. to let the artist know what to draw.

It was very interesting to find out that such simple words could be so difficult to draw by using these terms. When I was the director, I often thought that I knew exactly how to explain to the artist what to draw, only to find myself and my team completely stumped. We had a blast racing the other team and played this over and over again!
The second game that we reviewed was Shake 'N Take.
The Fast and Frantic Alien Adventure
"Aliens are on the loose and it’s up to you to capture them! Everybody’s got aliens, but there are only two capture markers. Catch as many aliens as you can, before the next player grabs the capture marker right out of your hand. Be the first to capture all of your aliens and win!"
This is a fast paced game and gets your heart racing. There's not a whole lot of thinking like Backseat Drawing, so it was a great game change when we needed it.
Each player gets a game board and then the Alien Hunter rolls their shape die and starts circling their aliens. The person on their right starts shaking the Shaker Egg until the alien face appears on the top of the die. That person then grabs their pen and becomes the Alien Hunter. They roll the shape die and start circling their aliens until the person on their right shakes the alien face, and it keeps going until the first person has captured all their aliens!
