Listening Lounge: The Soldier's Tale Review & GIVEAWAY

"Maestro Classics, winner of 50 prestigious awards for its Stories In Music CD series, is dedicated to creating recordings that offer memorable listening experiences for the whole family -- albums where uncompromisingly great performances are woven into enchanting narratives, supplemented by expanded commentary and activities in beautifully illustrated, 24-page program booklets."  I was introduced to Maestro Classics last year and was very impressed by the album I received.  It is educational, uplifting, and introduces children to such wonderful stories and beautiful music!  That is why I was so happy when I had the opportunity to receive Maestro Classics' newly released CD, The Soldier's Tale
This 20th century tale not only truly captivates history through remarkable narration and music, but also provides children with a connection to the past and to culturally uplifting art!  Just this past Sunday, while my toddler son was napping, I put The Soldier's Tale on for my daughter in her room for some quiet listening and enjoying.  When I peeked in a few minutes later, there she was laying on her bed looking and listening tentively to CD on her player.  I thought I was in heaven.  There was no way my rambuntious 4-year-old could be so still and yet so entertained!  Later she told me all about the story of the soldier, his violin, and how the guy trades his violin for a magical book.  The book makes his sad because he realizes that he lost what he loved most--his music, family, and friends.  My daughter did an awesome job at listening and understanding this classic tale.  She also enjoyed the fun remix song about the story, which she danced to.

I would love any of their products, but especially "My Name is Handel: The Story of Water Music." I remember my Mom teaching me about different artists, composers, etc. when I was younger, and I would like to do the same for my sons.
