Watch this short video to get a sneak peak at some of the neat facts you will find in this Almanac.
I was very surprised and impressed with the amount of information packed into this book.  My husband was working on some school stuff the other night so I decided to sit down and read up on my facts!  The first few minutes went like this, "hey honey, did you know...?" "Wow, did you know...?" I learned so much in such a short time, I was very intrigued with all the fun facts.  One page I really enjoyed reading was about the Olympics.  It listed all the Summer and Winter Games Sites along with the dates.  A neat note at the bottom read, "Due to World World Wars I and II, the 1916 Summer Olympics and both the summer and winter games of 1940 and 1944 were not held.  I thought this was a neat fact that I will always remember.
Reading this book with my daughter has been a lot of fun.  There are so many interesting, colorful pictures in this almanac it is definitely an attention-getter.  I love that not only is this book fun, but it is educational too.  Kids pick things up so quickly it is quite amazing the things they can learn!
This edition is the only interactive kids' almanac available.  You will find at the beginning of each chapter a code that can be scanned using a smart phone, giving this book a whole new take on technology.  The codes are a lot of fun, giving your kids fun videos to watch, more interesting facts, plus games and slide-shows!  Lastly, there is a virtual pet, Zipper, who is throughout the book giving web links that help your kids learn even more.  This is definitely a great book for any child or adult, and I would recommend it for the summer months, so your child is never without learning!

Buy It!
"This almanac is under-the-covers, flashlight-worthy reading and is perfect for summer camp care packages and long drives/plane rides to vacation destinations."

  1. I like that it had a pico de gallo recipe. Learning about places around the world isn't if you're not also learning about food!

  22. I learned a lot about the Clown Anemonefish. The men take care of the eggs, and removes debris from the nest site (which also means eggs that die. When they die he eats them!). Yikes! He had to do this though, so they don't contaminate the other good eggs.
