ITZBEEN Review & GIVEAWAY (closed)

Having a baby is a lot of work! There are times when you, as parents, can get over-whelmed, over-tired, and your brain feels a lot less functional. I know that I often joke about how having kids slowly depletes my memory and brain function as with each kid, I find myself forgetting many simple things and having a hard time with basic daily tasks. When you have a new baby, there are so many things to remember and keep track of- when did I feed them last, how long ago did I last change their diaper, which side did I feed from, and how long did I breastfeed for? With so much going on, it can be very hard to remember all of the different things. The ITZBEEN was designed to help ease these new baby/new parent challenges.
I know that I am not a first time parent and would have loved to have this for my first child, but I still find it very useful to all parents who have babies. With each child, you still have to go through a rigorous process of taking care of your baby’s needs and remembering everything! In fact, I feel that with multiple children it can be even more of a struggle to juggle all of the things going on!
The three primary benefits of the ITZBEEN are:
- LEARNING: the ITZBEEN is a good learning tool to remind parents about the basics of baby-care. When a parent is tired, a quick glance at the ITZBEEN may help them figure out why a baby is crying; perhaps the baby has been awake too long, or has gone too long without being fed.
Something that I also like is the soft-glow nightlight and the display backlight that allows you to read everything in the dark. In the middle of the night when you hear the baby cry, seeing the times can help you determine why your baby might be crying.
- REMEMBERING: sleep deprivation and busy schedules make it difficult for parent to remember who did what and when. The ITZBEEN simply acts as a digital notepad to help parents remember how long ago they did something. (Hence the name, pronounced ‘it’s been’… as in it’s been three hours since the baby was fed) Having good information helps new parents make better decisions for their babies.
I like the timer alarms option, which allows you to set a reminder alarm for each of the timers. This way, if the time limit is reached, the button will light up and an alarm will briefly sound. You can then better determine what your baby might need. Very helpful for first time parents learning the ropes of things and great for busy moms needing some extra reminding!
- COMMUNICATING BETWEEN CAREGIVERS: In today’s society, it is not just mom taking care of the baby; dads are involved now more than ever. Parental instinct is vital in caring for a baby, but that instinct relies on knowing what recent care the baby has received. The ITZBEEN is a convenient way for all caregivers involved to communicate and share basic baby-care information.
I can remember several times where my husband, babysitter, etc. had asked me information, which I could not remember. “The baby seems fussy. When was their last feeding?” Having this knowledge quickly on hand and in one place makes things a lot easier!

  7. My favorite part is that it keeps track of feed times. I remember having a notebook that I carried around with me everywhere when my first daughter was born....I was so scared I'd lose it! I would love to have this for our 2nd baby due in a few months!

  21. Honestly, my favorite part is the timers. We are expecting twins in a few weeks (and have a distracting toddler already) so I have a feeling this will be a lifesaver. A friend of mine with twins has already recommended them to me.

  46. Without a doubt I love the feature that tracks their sleeping. My 8 month old is still not sleeping through the night (whereas my older son did by that age). I'm so sleep deprived, that sometimes I don't even remember how many times I was up with him during the night! This would come in so handy so I could track it more easily.
